FSASEC is partnership between the Vaal University of Technology, the French ministry of Education and Schneider Electric. This partnership is expressed as a training center that prepares underprivileged students to become artisans and electricians that are immediately employable. Among the policy objectives of the South African government presented in the white paper is that of a single coordinated post-school education and training system. The second objective is a stronger and more cooperative relationship between education and training institutions and the workplace. FSASEC will play a pivotal role in being a launch pad for these graduates. This objective will be accomplished by the following strategy. A compelling and accredited state of the art facility and training center, a highly competitive FSASEC team, a strong partnership with industry and business, an FSASEC – specific research arm, a rigorous and sustainable revenue generation plan.
